This is a video presentation of the Helsinki Corpus of British English Dialects with an introduction by Kirsti Peitsara and an example of transcription. The video was originally filmed for the League of European Research Universities (eLERU) Top Science project. The full presentation is available on the eLERU website.

The Helsinki Corpus of British English Dialects is a work-in-progress. A good amount of material stored on the original reel-to-reel tapes is yet to be digitised and transcribed into computer corpus format. As the corpus itself is updated with further extensions, new material (especially audio) will be added to this CoRD site as well.
