The Málaga Corpus of Late Middle English Scientific Prose (MCLMESP)

MCLMESP is the first component of The Málaga Corpus of Early English Scientific Prose. The corpus covers the period 1350–1500 and contains hitherto unedited medical material from the three scientific text types of the period: theoretical treatises, surgical treatises and recipe collections. MCLMESP represents English vernacular medicine in the pre-printing era and therefore, it can be used as the input for linguistic studies as well as it can serve as material for historians of the language and medicine, among others.
